Camino Frances from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela

Senses Engage

As I walk each morning, my senses engage in the Camino’s beauty.

Sight – watching the morning sky turn black to purple shades to orange and red colours to brighten the sky.

Smell – spring blossoms have a soft, sweet, floral scent, especially after a quick rain.

Touch – a gentle breeze cools my face as morning heat builds.

Hearing – a symphony of birds sing each morning to welcome me.

Taste – my morning apple and tangerine freshen my morning walk.

As my senses engage, I know I was born to walk Camino!

A favourite poems called “Final Analysis” by Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centred … Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives … Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies …Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you … Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight … Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous… Be happy anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough … Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is all between you and God … it was never between you and them anyway.

wow John – your poem today really spoke to me. Actually, all your posts have been aiding me in my current journey. Perhaps you continue to share your daily blogs and posts after your trip. These daily reflections are both nourishing and healing. Just an idea…

John, very inspirational. I’ve been following you everyday on Carri’s iPad (I’m not on your distribution list). I emailed you last week about a friend here who returned last week from a trip home to see his family. His family and he are from — Santiago! He regaled me all about the Camino and showed me pictures. The cathedral in Santiago is beautiful.
