Camino Frances from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela

Camino Gifts

I walk 6 – 7 hours per day, allowing much time to speak with other pilgrims and think about Camino gifts, such as –

Love – every pilgrim wills the good of every other pilgrim, consistently.

The world is sooo big and beautiful, the eye sees vibrant colors in every direction and every mile while walking Camino.

Patience and self control – pilgrims have unlimited respect for each other, calm and never pressing.

Joy – there is physical pain from walking distances but joy is seen and shared everyday on Camino. 100% of pilgrims smile, even in pain.

Peace and gentleness – never rude and always calm, sharing water, food, or an ear to listen to a personal story.

Kindness and goodness – I passed a couple resting on the Camino in the shade and offered water or candy bar, but they were good. I saw them in town having a late lunch and they said many pilgrims had stopped and asked if they were okay. Turns out they met on the Camino a few years ago, married, and are walking the Camino to celebrate!

I’m slightly west of Burgos, walking to Santiago – 476 kilometers more!
Amen!
